How to use the GEPCO bill calculator
- Enter the units consumed from your GEPCO bill (current reading minus previous reading).
- Choose protected or unprotected consumer type, as printed on your bill.
- Add the FPA, QTA and fixed charge values from your latest bill for a closer estimate.
- Read the itemized estimate and compare it with your official bill.
How a GEPCO electricity bill is calculated
GEPCO bills use slabs set by NEPRA. The more units you use, the higher the rate on units in the higher slabs. On top of the energy charge, a bill usually includes:
- Fixed charges, where they apply to your category
- Fuel price adjustment (FPA) and quarterly tariff adjustment (QTA)
- Financing cost and Neelum-Jhelum surcharges
- Electricity duty and 18% GST
- PTV fee
Example for a GEPCO consumer: an unprotected consumer using 250 units pays 100 units at Rs 22.44, 100 units at Rs 28.91, 50 units at Rs 33.10. That is an energy charge of Rs 6,790 before fixed charges, adjustments, surcharges and taxes. These are the calculator’s default rates, so confirm them against your bill.
Protected vs unprotected consumers
Protected consumers are low-consumption residential users billed at lower rates, up to 200 units a month. Crossing 200 units moves the bill to the higher unprotected slabs, so staying below that threshold can make a large difference.
Ways to lower your GEPCO bill
- Check your usage against the 100, 200 and 300 unit slab limits during the month.
- Reduce air conditioner and heavy appliance use at peak hours.
- Use energy-efficient fans, LED lights and inverter appliances.
- Check your bill for wrong readings or categories and report them to GEPCO.

What is a protected consumer in GEPCO?
A protected consumer is a low-consumption residential user billed at lower slab rates, up to 200 units a month. Your status depends on your consumption history, so check the category printed on your bill.
What happens if I cross 200 units?
Above 200 units the bill moves to the higher unprotected residential slabs, so even a few extra units can raise the bill noticeably.
What are FPA and QTA on my bill?
FPA is the fuel price adjustment and QTA is the quarterly tariff adjustment. Both are per-unit amounts set through NEPRA notifications and printed on your bill. Enter them for a closer estimate.
Why is my estimate different from my actual bill?
Tariffs and adjustments change with NEPRA notifications, and your real bill can include fixed charges, arrears, late payment surcharge or other items. Treat the result as an estimate and pay the amount on your official GEPCO bill.
Is this GEPCO bill calculator official?
No. It is an independent estimation tool and is not affiliated with GEPCO, WAPDA or NEPRA. Your official GEPCO bill is the only valid payable amount.
